A sensor against damage worth millions

"Just don't give up". Markus Hochstrasser dares to spin off from Swisscom with his Kickbox idea, the Smart Graffiti Detector, and tries to gain a foothold in the startup world. In the interview, he tells us exciting insights and reveals his learnings from his journey with Swisscom Kickbox.

Out of his own dismay, Markus decided to put an end to the millions in graffiti damage. His product combines several approaches to real-time monitoring. It does without the use of sensitive video cameras, which is a big plus in the area of data protection. The solution is based on a chemical sensor and a highly sensitive microphone. A sudden increase in the concentration of chemicals in combination with the typical spray sounds triggers a message to the monitoring centre.
